As a professional rugby player with 50 international caps for Wales, I have spent over a decade pushing my body to the limit. Recovery, performance and resilience were not just goals — they were essential to staying in the game.

Like many athletes, I turned to micronutrient supplements to support my body under pressure. But the more I researched, the more I realised how flawed the supplement industry really was.

Behind the labels were synthetic fillers, hidden ingredients, competing nutrients and products with poor bioavailability. Worse, very few met the safety standards required for drug-tested athletes or were even regulated by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) in Australia. Companies were more concerned about cutting costs rather than making quality products.

And it wasn’t just about performance anymore. With a family history of kidney disease, health became deeply personal. There was no room for compromise.

A Shared Mission for Truth

With my wife Christie, a health-conscious mother of four, we began to question everything we had trusted. Together, we searched for supplements that were clean, effective, and safe — not just for athletes, but for growing families and everyday people.

We could not find what we were looking for.

So, we decided to make it ourselves.

Veritroo was born from frustration, but it is fuelled by purpose. The name itself stands for truth (“veritas”) and transparency. The values at the core of everything we do.

One of the biggest changes we made was eliminating heavily processed foods from our home. We became mindful of food labels — not just on supplements, but on every product we brought into our kitchen.

By making movement fun, accessible and part of our everyday environment, we are teaching our children that an active lifestyle is not a chore — it is just how we live.
